Increase in Online conversions

For a business that’s been serving customers for over three decades, United Wholesale had a rock-solid reputation offline—but its online presence told a different story. An outdated website, inconsistent visibility in search results, and even a suspended Google Business Profile for one showroom left valuable opportunities on the table. In a market where homeowners and contractors increasingly start their buying journey online, these gaps meant fewer inquiries, missed leads, and lost showroom traffic. United Wholesale needed more than just a cosmetic update; they required a complete digital turnaround. By addressing technical roadblocks, revitalizing their website, and implementing a sustained SEO strategy, we helped transform their online presence into a lead-generating powerhouse.

United Wholesale Supply (UWS) is a long-established company (proudly serving the Puget Sound region since 1991) that provides custom cabinets and appliances through its showrooms. Despite over 30 years of success and two showroom locations, UWS faced a modern problem: its online presence had fallen behind, hurting brand awareness and customer acquisition in the digital age. When they came to HiveMind, their website was outdated, not mobile-friendly, and not effectively showcasing their products/services. Even more pressing, one of their showrooms’ Google Business Profiles was “in Google jail” – essentially suspended or inaccessible – making that location nearly invisible on Google Maps searches. This meant potential customers couldn’t even find or review one of their stores online, a critical issue for a business that relies on local showroom traffic. In summary, the challenge was to resuscitate and modernize UWS’s digital footprint: improve their search visibility, update the user experience, and re-engage customers online to drive more leads and showroom visits.

HiveMind’s strategy for UWS was a comprehensive digital revamp focused on both technical fixes and ongoing growth tactics. Key steps in our solution included:

  • Google Business Profile Reinstatement & Optimization: Our first priority was to release UWS’s suspended Google Business Profile from “jail.” We worked with Google’s support process to get the profile reinstated and verified, restoring UWS’s official presence on Google Maps/local search. Once reinstated, we fully optimized the GBP – updating correct business information, hours, photos of the showrooms and product displays, and encouraging UWS to gather new customer reviews. This immediately improved local visibility for the affected showroom (customers could once again find the Kent and Kirkland locations on Google).
  • Website Migration and Redesign: We migrated United Wholesale’s old website to WordPress, providing a stable, modern platform for growth. The site was redesigned entirely (with a fresh look launched in August 2025) to align with modern user experience standards and UWS’s branding. This refresh included a clean, mobile-responsive layout, faster load times, and intuitive navigation so both contractors and homeowners could easily find product information and contact the team. We also ensured the new site met accessibility and UX best practices, making it welcoming for all users. Importantly, content on key pages (like the portfolio of kitchen/bath projects, services, and showroom info) was rewritten with a content strategy in mind – highlighting UWS’s expertise and incorporating relevant keywords to boost SEO.
  • SEO Maintenance & Content Strategy: After the initial overhaul, we entered a phase of monthly SEO maintenance and content updates. This involved continuously optimizing on-page elements, publishing occasional blog posts or news updates (if applicable) to keep the site fresh, and monitoring keyword rankings and traffic trends. We conducted keyword research to identify high-converting search terms for UWS’s industry and made sure the site’s content answered those queries. Over time, these efforts helped UWS climb in search rankings for their target keywords. We also kept the site technically healthy (fixing any broken links, updating plugins, etc.) and leveraged analytics data to inform each tweak – truly treating the website as a living, improving asset.

Throughout the project, our team maintained a collaborative, human-centric approach – we communicated regularly with UWS’s stakeholders (from the marketing team to showroom managers) to ensure the digital strategy aligned with their business goals. We also educated them on the importance of things like responding to Google reviews and periodically posting updates, so their online presence would remain active and engaging.

Results & Impact

United Wholesale Supply’s digital transformation led to significant improvements in online visibility and customer engagement. Over the period since implementing our changes, UWS has enjoyed an average +22% year-over-year increase in website traffic, combining growth in both organic search visitors and direct visits. This means more potential customers are finding and visiting the site than ever before, drawn by both higher Google rankings and increased brand awareness. In fact, UWS now appears on the first page of Google results for over 63% of their top converting keywords, dramatically improving their search reach. (This is crucial, given that the vast majority of users never scroll past page one of search results – UWS’s new first-page rankings put them front-and-center for relevant searches where they used to be virtually absent.)

With the Google Business Profiles fixed and optimized, local search engagement surged: the previously “invisible” showroom is now receiving consistent views and customer actions (calls, directions) from Google Maps. Overall conversions – defined as key customer actions like contact form submissions on the website, quote requests, and calls or direction clicks from the Google listings – have increased by over 47% year-over-year. In practical terms, this means nearly half again as many potential customers are contacting UWS or visiting their showrooms as before our engagement. UWS’s site content is also doing a better job of converting visitors into leads; for example, users spend more time exploring the product galleries and often proceed to “Contact Us” after seeing what UWS offers.

The qualitative results are just as positive. UWS’s management and team have noticed greater brand visibility online – long-time customers frequently comment on the improved website, and new customers often mention the website or Google reviews as how they discovered the business. The unified, modern online presence now truly reflects United Wholesale’s decades-long reputation for quality.

“HiveMind’s team quickly turned our outdated website into a modern showcase for our products and got our Google listing issues resolved. Now, customers can easily find our showrooms online – and we’ve seen a steady increase in calls, inquiries, and showroom visits. Our online visibility and traffic are way up, and we’re ranking on page one for keywords that matter to us,” says the United Wholesale Supply team.

By bringing UWS’s digital presence up to current standards, we helped a 30-year-old business recapture market share in the online space. Their case study illustrates how even a mature, offline-focused business can achieve continuous online growth with the right mix of technical fixes, strategic content, and ongoing SEO care. United Wholesale now dominates many relevant local searches for custom cabinets and kitchen design, ensuring that when potential customers search for these services, they find United Wholesale first – and that translates into real revenue growth. The partnership with HiveMind has equipped UWS with a future-proofed online foundation, positioning them firmly for continued success in the years to come.
